Redesign and SCORM Conversion of a Course on Diversity in the Educational Field

An organization in the educational sector needed to update a training course about working with diversity, adapting its design and format to facilitate integration into a SCORM 1.2 compatible learning platform. The objective was to maintain the original content while making some adjustments to improve user experience and interactivity.

For this project, Artimedia was responsible for the graphic and technical redesign, converting the content into a SCORM package that allowed precise tracking and assessment of learners. This enabled the client to better leverage the advantages of a standardized digital training environment.

What was the challenge?

The main challenge was to update and transform an existing course while preserving the integrity of its content, adapting it to the SCORM format, and enhancing its design and functionality for a digital environment.

Ensuring compatibility with the SCORM 1.2 standard to facilitate integration across various LMS platforms.

What was the process?

The process followed a structured methodology to guarantee quality and fulfillment of objectives.

Template-based design

The graphic design was developed following a template previously proposed by Artimedia, adapting the client’s corporate image and visual guidelines to create a cohesive presentation.
Layout and content integration

Existing content was adapted to the new design, formatting the screens and integrating text, graphic resources, and interactive activities.
Programming navigation and activity

Navigation between sections and learning activities was programmed, incorporating the necessary logic to ensure a coherent and user-friendly experience.
Integration with the SCORM 1.2 API

The SCORM API was fully integrated to capture key data such as course status, current page, approval, and module completion, enabling rigorous control of the training process.
Testing and adjustment in a controlled environment

The SCORM package was loaded on the test platform Scorm Cloud to validate proper functioning, resolving any issues until full approval was achieved.

Results

The project concluded with the delivery of a fully redesigned, interactive digital course compatible with SCORM 1.2, ready for implementation on LMS platforms.
