A professional association dedicated to representing and serving its members commissioned Artimedia to develop a new version of its website. The client wanted to renew its digital presence with a more modern design while keeping the current content. The main goal was to obtain a more optimised, accessible platform, with a focus on reducing costs through implementation in WordPress.

The project involved migrating and adapting content in Catalan and Spanish, as well as improving the user experience through a responsive interface and efficient management of technical and functional resources. The existing functionality had to be preserved while maintaining the integrity of the information and private access for registered users.

What was the challenge?

The main challenges of the project were:

  • Keep the current design and content while implementing a new, clean structure.
  • Adapt the website to a WordPress architecture that minimised cost and maximised security, avoiding unnecessary plugins.
  • Guarantee compatibility and accessibility across different devices and browsers.
  • Migrate a large amount of content in two languages without losing quality or functionality.
  • Implement private areas with access to exclusive information and resources for members.

What was the process?

  1. Environment preparation

Installation and configuration of a dedicated development server, with all technical dependencies aligned with PHP 8 and MySQL standards.

  2. Layout and design adaptation

Faithful reproduction of the existing design with specific adjustments to improve display on mobile devices and responsive navigation.

  3. Content migration

Transfer of content from the old website to the new post types and custom templates in WordPress, guaranteeing multilingual consistency (Catalan and Spanish).

  4. Code optimisation and clean-up

Exhaustive review of the source code to remove obsolete functionality and organise the structure of files and includes, thus achieving greater robustness and maintainability.

  5. Implementation of advanced features

Custom development of AJAX-based search engines for listings and filters in the member directory, professional firms and private area.

  6. Testing and launch

Multi-device testing, compatibility validation and final deployment on the client’s server. Training and delivery of documentation for autonomous use of the platform.

Results

With the delivery of the project, the professional association has a modernised website that offers:

  • A digital platform with improved usability and consistent navigation across devices.
  • Optimised management of multilingual content and of the public and private content areas.
  • A robust, secure system with a clean backend adapted to new technology versions.
  • Significant reduction in maintenance and update costs thanks to the choice of a flexible, affordable CMS.
  • A more satisfying user experience that makes it easier for members to access key services and information.

This project confirms Artimedia’s commitment to delivering custom digital solutions that adapt to the client’s specific needs, combining technological innovation with respect for functional continuity.
